Orlando Cabrera bashes Yankee fans

Click to enlargeOrlando Cabrera, whose Angels are currently in NY playing the Yanks, opened up on how he feels about Yankee fans. Generally, that they've been spoiled by success and quickly turn on the team and players when they don't perform to expectations (Hello, A-Rod '06). Eh... nothing new. Same old criticism people have been saying for years.

From the Los Angeles Times, here's Cabrera's statements:

"They don't appreciate good baseball. They just appreciate the Yankees beating up on everybody."

"In Boston, they admire baseball. In Anaheim, those fans are some of the best in baseball. They know you care there. They know you can't do it every day. I appreciate that."

"These people here, they're mean. And they're really mean to the other team."

Um... correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Boston fans boo Keith Foulke a lot, the season following their World Series win? From what I understand, he had some injury problems that year, an ugly ERA, and really didn't help things with his "Johnny from Burger King" comment. But whatever, they still booed him despite the fact that he was a major contributor to their first championship in 86 years. Same with Mark Bellhorn. They booed that guy out of town. (Granted, he sucks. 2 years ago, I was watching the Yankees at Safeco Field, and was shocked when I looked at the lineup and saw he was on our team. I didn't know they had signed him. I shouted, "MARK BELLHORN?!?!? Are you kidding me?!?!? He never does ANYTHING!" A guy in a Red Sox hat in front of me turned and said, "Yeah, that's why I'm happy.")

Cabrera says he's unfazed by the infamous heckling skills of Yankee fans:

"When people say [stuff], they only motivate me. They're bad losers."
